Dan Campbell raises challenge to Goff for starting Job, Goff politely declines.

Detroit, MI-After quarterback play has struggled with Goff under the helm for the Lions for the last few weeks, Detroit Head Coach Dan Campbell spoke publicly. "The way Goff has been playing has not been what we expected. I challenge him to play better, or else he could be replaced". Goff responded to the challenge with the authority Lions fans have come to expect from him. "I'm good coach, but thank you for the offer. I think with David Blough on the team as our starting QB we could be looking at an 8 win season with a possible playoff appearance. I'd say Amon St. Brown could see an 800-yard season and a pro bowl appearance. D'Andre Swift would see an uptick in targets, and a pro bowl appearance. We'd have a balanced offense. Without me at the helm, this team could become a well-lubricated machine. I'll obviously be emotionally distraught at not starting, but somehow I'll manage to get over it. if the choice is to play football and get paid or don't play football and get paid, I'll always take the second option", concluded Goff. At press time, David Blough responded, politely declining the offer for the starting job, and saying "Tim Boyle is the future".
